Building Bridges to Success

Building Bridges to Success program, brings together a consortium lead by Kingsborough Community College, Continuing Education Department, in collaboration with Kingsborough College’s Center for Economic and Workforce Development, Coney Island Hospital and Net Cost Supermarket, to implement a comprehensive and a holistic instructional model to intermediate-level ESL students. This a FREE program open to ESL intermediate level students interested in Food Management. The consortium brings together the necessary expertise and experience in administering contextualized ESL and workforce education programs that will prepare participants for career pathways in Food Management.

The program is based on the Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training model (I- BEST) that has achieved success with low-income workers in Washington State and will combine a contextualized ESL, workforce training and higher education approach that has proven effective in helping low level students achieve entrance and advancement to higher skilled, higher-paying career pathways.

Registration starts in December. Courses will begin in January. To register or for more information call 718-368-4870.
