
Kingsborough English Language Institute (KELI) ESL-70 Program is designed to enable non-native speakers to develop proficiency in the English languages. KELI offers multiple proficiency levels for beginners to advance. It is open to anyone 18 years or older who can commit to full-time study Monday through Friday 9am-2pm. Students are pre and post tested on a 1 hour writing exam and 1 hour standardized language proficiency test. The program focuses on listening, speaking, reading and writing, the emphasis, especially in the upper level is on TOEFL preparation, reading, and writing for academic study. Assistance for application to the university is also available.
Students applying to the university or taking TOEFL will need to attend more than one cycle to make significant progress. Students on visas are required to continue ESL-70 classes until they are accepted to a university or transfer to another language program.
